Texture

There is a myth that when you cut your hair it grows back thick. This is most commonly said when cutting a baby hair. In my opinion this is absolutely not true. My son has curly silky fine strand hair and when his grandmother cut his hair (without my consent) it grew back the exact same way. In my hair my sides are my “trouble’ they are coarse and not as define as the rest of my hair. When I shave my head my hair grew back the same. In the back of my hair the texture is a loose curl, in the middle and front it’s really curly, and on the sides in the front it has no definition.

Locs

During the two months that I had the pleasure of having locs I was in love with them. I love how low maintenance they were, how diverse they were, and how they overall look. Locs to me are some beautiful. They come in all sizes and lengths. Every loc head have their own story on why they started and what they have learn since having locs. The reason why I had to remove mines was because my boyfriend didn’t like the fact:

1.       I look like a boy

2.       They wasn’t uniform

3.       The frizz that comes when they are going through their stages

I work in a doctor office and I receive a lot of stares and looks. No one actually said anything but I know that they did. I thought about getting loc extension but that only depressed me because I didn’t get to actually see my hair progress. Soon I will go back the locs I know it’s my destiny

I  have took out my locs due to my boyfriend saying I look like a little boy :-)

Summer Time

Its summer time and I know everyone will be either on youtube looking up "how to" for braids or going to the hair salon. I have tried almost every style in the books and I learn its best to DO THEM YOURSELF!! Why waste your money and time on someone who half the time is not doing it correctly. I will tell you about my trip to the Braiding salon

So I decided I wanted sengalese twist done professional so I asked for $200.00 from my boyfriend and went to my near by shop. Let me tell you the whole experience was terrible. My stylist did not want to do my twist the size I wanted which was in between medium and large. She talked about everyone that came in the shop and on top of all that after 2 weeks my twist started to look old. I know you saying did you wrap and take care of them. Well yes I did I spent $200 on them I took extra TLC but nothing worked. After this horrible event I started installing braids myself. They didnt turn out professional looking but I know with time and price the will.
This is the braids the salon did they were good at first

PS The above braids I done myself and it was a protective style over my dreadlocks I was trying to form

New Journey

Sorry everyone for being away for so long. Alot of things have happen since my disappearance and heres the list:

1. Shave off all my hair
After a whole year of going natural I decided to cut off my hair on my one year anniversary
2. Grew back hair and started dreads
I have alot of friends with dreads and started following _locology on instagram and I feel in love with dreads
3. Started rocking my natural hair
After only two months of dreads my boyfriend talk me into wearing my natural hair

It has now been a total of two years without relaxers and one year since I cut off my hair. My hair grew back the same way as when I first started my natural journey. My hair is at my collarbone in the back and to my neck at the top. This time around I plan on taking real good care of my hair. I will keep you all updated on my journey for real this time
